    DBT is a set of coping skills designed to help you achieve balance in life, rather than living in extremes or struggling with conflicting decisions about how to live your life. The 4 domains are as follows:  

    MINDFULNESS 

    Fine tune your awareness skills in order to improve mental functioning so that you can maintain a state of peace and equanamity (stability) amidst the ever-changing ebb and flow of life.

    DISTRESS TOLERANCE

    Get through a time of distress with the best outcome, rather than creating a bigger crisis.

    INTERPERSONAL EFFECTIVENESS

    The skill of initiating/maintaining, and repairing relationships- learn to effectively make requests, set boundaries, and establish/maintain self-respect.

    EMOTION REGULATION

    You will learn to increase emotional sensitivity/intensity and prevent unwanted emotions from starting, or reducing unwanted emotions once they start.
